Tis' the night before YC and all through the house the teens are stirring in anticipation.
Ok so it doesn't rhyme at all, nor does it fit the meter of the actual poem but close enough. It is, in fact, the night before YC and I am super excited!!! I am so excited to spend the weekend with my friends and listen to awesome music and have a blast! It should be a weekend to remember and I will tell you all about it on Monday. For now listen to this song because it is awesome.

YC 2011

So I wasn't going to go to YC this year but now I am and I must say that now that I am going I am super stoked, and not just because Cee is making nerdfighter shirts for us!
But I also realized that I know NONE of the new music by any of the artists that are going. So we went to the library (because I had a book on hold and it arrived and I was really excited and then I got there and it was the audio CD...not the book. So sad face) and got the two new Hawk Nelson CDs. But NO SWITCHFOOT!!!! And I am really sad because they will probably have a concert at the main session and I won't know any of the music and it will suck because I don't know any of thier new stuff. But it will be fun because I am there with my friends having a ball.
Also no snow this weekend!!!

Zombies?

So I was on Stumble upon (the best bordeom conquer ever,by the way.) and a site showed up that had pictures of Six Flags, New Orleans. I look at them all and concluded that I must go visit sometime. The park was under 9 feet of water at one point after Katrina hit in 2005. It was permanatley closed and now looks like the set for a Zombie movie. I was inspired and a whole bunch of ideas for scary movies popped into my head.

So this obviously isn't from the Six Flags site. I just thought it was a really cool paper creation.
Hope you liked them. If you want to see the rest of the Six Flags pictures click here.
For more cool paper art look at this.

Winter vs. Summer Chores

I would like to tell you all about summer chores vs. winter chores. And to do this I will write a little script of sorts.
WINTER CHORES
Mother: Darling child, please go and wash the inside of these three windows. Then you can go.
Darling child: But mother. I don't want to. It is cold and icky outside. Please do not make me do it.
Mother: You can whine all you want but you still have to wash the windows.
Darling Child: [realizing that there is no point in arguing gets up and washes the windows. A task that takes her all of three minutes.] FINE!

SUMMER CHORES
Mother: Darling child can you please was the inside and outside of all the windows on the main floor?
Darling child: Why yes mother. I would be delighted to do that.
Mother: Thank you darling child. Also I want you to clean the back yard and wash the floor of the pantry and clean the porch. Then can you please wash the car?
Darling child: Why yes mother. I would be delighted to do that.

What is my point here? I don't really know. Maybe its the fact that when it is nice out darling children are more willing to do chores. Maybe this is an exampe of how much the weather impats our moods. But I don't know.

Also we went to the library to get some new books and when we got there we realized that no one had put the books in the truck. I found it really funny but no one else did so I didn't laugh.

So happy May Long Weekend. Enjoy it and be thankful that there is no snow yet and it is only supposed to rain.

I am sunburnt. Not like tomato red can't move burnt. But burnt enough to not be abe to cross my legs. This is from a track meet yesterday, which we took first in a bunch of events (Go CCS!). Also during the course of the day I stained the bum of my yellow shorts, hurt my hand from punching somone's arm, and figured out that I cringe when people touch the back of my neck (much to the deilght of the same friend whose arm I punched...which in my defence I was not inteding to do. He moved). All in all it was a very good day. Minus all the sunburns.

Also the other day I played at a park. I had lots of fun.

And here is a really cute video.

A Little Bit Of Random.

So I watched the Dorian Grey and it is awesome. Just the right blend of creepy and sweet. Plus 2 hours of looking at Ben Barnes is not the most difficult thing in the world to do.
So I stole this post idea. From my friend. Her blog is here.

~Name something you lost or gave away that can never be replaced.
I don't know. I once left my blanket in our truck and my dad took the truck to work that night. But I got it  back in the morning. I remember that very well. But I don't think I have ever lost something that can't be replaced.

~What 5 websites do you visit often, and why?
Facebook. Facebook=life line.
Gmail. Communication with the outside world
Failblog/Wins/Weddinator/If Style Could Kill. Always good for a laugh.
That's 5 right? 6 actually.

~Name a totally useless possession and how you came to acquire it.
I have a little double decker bus figurine. I don't know how I got it but I have it. I also have a double decker bus keychain  I got from my friend when she came back from England. Sometimes if I'm bored I make them crash into each other. It's really fun.

~What music album would be used for a movie about your life?
Sweeney Todd soundtrack. Just kidding. I don't know. The playlist for my life would have songs that have nothing to do with my actual life. Just songs that I like. Some Brodway songs, some country. Death Cab for Cutie. Stuff like that.

~List your bad habits and/or addictions and what you have tried to rid yourself of them.
Biting my nails. I used to be so bad with this. But I have almost stopped. Almost.

~If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be, and what would you do if later on you changed your mind?
If I could change anyhting about myself it would be one of two things. The fact that I don't like rides, the fact that sometimes I say too much and sometimes I say too little. I don't think these would be things that I would change my mind on them because they bug me so much.

~What are your religious beliefs?  Have they changed, or have they always stayed the same?
Christian. Always have been the same and always will be.

~When was your last food craving, and what did you crave?
On Monday I really wanted a slurpee. I got one on Wednesday.

~Name your most cherished childhood memory.
I don't have a super cherished memory. But I remember going ot my grandparents house in BC and under the stairs in the basement was a little area that we would clean out and play in. There was a little table there and they had a doll that was the size of a three year old and I would play with that.

~Turn to an entry in your journal or diary from a year or more ago.  What has changed and what has stayed the same since then?
I have tried os many times to keep a journal and I am just not that committed (I am happy that I have managed to keep this going, however sporadically, this long). But since last year lots has stayed the same. More than I think changed. Off the top of my head I can't think of what has changed.

~What is one thing nobody knows about you because nobody ever cared to ask?
I am a really open person and what you see is what you get. So I don't think that people don't know much about me. Maybe that I am suprisingly artisitc.

~Robert Frost write a poem titled The Road Not Taken.  Name a road you’ve always wanted to travel.  Where do you hope it takes you, and what might you see on the way?
I would love to take a backpack with clothes and money and just go where ever. With no schedule or time limit or anything like that. Just be in the world and seeing new things and doing new things a meeting new people. That is like my dream.
If they mean a literal road I have always wanted to drive on the ice raod, autobahn and do a raod trip accross Canada on hwy 1.

~Write about something you now know that you wish you knew earlier in life.  How could this knowledge have helped you?

~Write about your greatest fear.
Snakes and Needles. Snakes is ok. Lots of people are afraid of snakes but I am terrified of needles. Which is odd because I can watch shows where they slice open people's heads and take out chunks of brain matter. but if I see somone getting a needle I freak out and can't handle it. Also dentists. I swear like 99.9%  of them are sadists.

~Name one thing you feel brings out the good in people.
Smiling babies. I mean who doesn't love a smiling baby?

Mother's Day

Despite my dislike for poetry, I have written a literary masterpiece for Mother's day.

This Mother's Day I vowed to,
make you the best poem ever.
I started with a Haiku.
But I'm just not that clever.

Then I thought 'Hey! Epic!"
And decided against it.
For my thoughts are far to hetic,
to come up with something that fit.

"I'll follow great Shakespeare!
And write a brillian sonnet!"
But from the start it was clear
I am no poetry starlit.

I then decided free verse.
But as far a poetry writing,
I fear that I am cursed.
as my brain started frying.

Then popped in my head,
a whitty Limerick!
A style that is not dead!
but what rhymes with 'scissors kick'?

I had one final shot,
to write a poem for my mom.
Philadelphia pepper pot.
Thermal nuclear bomb.

At poetry I'm no wiz.
Glad I came through?
Here it is,
A poem for you.

Happy Mother's day.
Here's a bit of word play:
I'll make you fish fillet
and keep the zombies away.

Happy Mothers day to the most important people of all: Moms

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things.

And now the song is stuck in your head, isn't it? :)

--> Fresh chocolate chip cookies and a glass of cold milk.
-->Waffle cones with 2 flavors of ice cream, like peanut butter and chocolate brownie. Even better if there is some form of candy mixed in, like gummy worms.
-->Laying on an air mattress in the middle of a lake with the sun beating down on you and letting your feet and hands drag in the water.
--> Giant plot twists that take the book in a whole new direction. Like the Night Angel Triliogy by Brent Weeks. Also when you find out who a character really is, like in The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown.
-->Summer nights spent jumping on the trampoline with friends and siblings and then stopping and laying under the stars and talking when it gets dark.
-->Going star tipping after realizing that it really is the perfect night to do it. then getting so dizzy you can't stand up.
-->Finding random funny videos on Youtube thanks to friends and the suggestion bar.
-->Climbing into bed after your sheets have been outside all day. Also climbing into a freshly made bed.
-->Crawling further into bed in the morning just because it is warm.
-->Sitting outside for lunch and getting into grass fights.
-->Playing board games with family and just listening to what they say.
-->Laying in the sun and falling asleep.
-->Being the last people on a beach and making sand castles and sand sculptures.
-->Taking the chair lift up a mountain and breaking abouve the clouds and seeing the sun on the mountain.
-->Skiing fast down the mountain.
--> Sight seeing in different cities.

So it's more that a few but can you really narrow it down to a few?
